Re: The Ghost of Gladstone villa.

Re: The Ghost of Gladstone villa.

My family and I lived at a large property called Gladstone villa in the former mining town of Bargoed in the Caerphilly county borough of the South Wales valleys, UK, near Cardiff.
From 1969 to the Summer of 1978 my family, our friends and I experienced phenomena that simply defied rational and scientific explanation such as very mild poltergeist activity like lights going off and on, we witnessed electrical cables being pulled by unseen forces, objects being moved like furniture, there was loud bangs and dragging sounds.

There was the occasional sighting but this was very rare indeed,  so rare in fact that in all the nine years that I was there I never once saw it,  but my mother Caroline did on at least two occasions.

One night she told me and the family that she saw the full solid figure standing near the doorway in the living room, she later described it in detail with typical brown habit complete with hood over the head so she didn't see the face, it was only there for a few moments and it was gone !

We heard regular footsteps in the main bedroom that would occur every evening,  sometimes during the day when we'd all be downstairs watching TV,  one of us would turn the volume down to hear it more clearly as it walked slowly above us !

All this activity was enough to leave us all in no doubt at all that Gladstone villa was indeed haunted and the paranormal is most certainly real,  in fact the property actually convinced a skeptic and a non believer so it's worth looking into and really does need to be documented and a thorough investigation needs to take place there.

It was so bad that we slept downstairs with the lights on all night, we had the ghost for so long that my grandmother Rita gave it a pet name as an amusement and my grandfather Bill would mock it by shouting out that name to get a reaction but nothing happened.

We left the property in the Summer of 1978 when two local business men bought the property and Gladstone villa was eventually converted into a hotel in the 1980's and renamed ''Redz Parc hotel''

I had my 40th birthday there in August 2009 for old times sake and the staff told me of their own personal experiences,  the lights going off and on,  sightings in room five.

I did some research into the history of Gladstone villa and I found out a few interesting things.

I discovered that Gladstone villa   dated back to the 1900's and it was named after the former Prime Minister William Gladstone.

A priest hide is said to be sealed up at a property very close by called ''The Rafa club'' , one of the oldest buildings in Bargoed, dating back to the 16th century, this explains the monk my mother Caroline saw in the 1970's.

What I have said here is true and I wouldn't share this if it couldn't be backed up with a thorough research.

I challenge any hardened skeptic and firm non believer and I can assure them that they will indeed question their beliefs , of that I am certain,  in fact, I'm 100% positive.

The property is located in Cardiff road, Bargoed, Caerphilly South Wales UK, check it out  !!
